15 March 2007. Clouded Leopard of Borneo identified as a distinct species. Based on a recent genetic study, the Bornean cat has now been reclassified as Neofelis diardi, distinct from the mainland Neofelis nebulosa. Read the detailed article here.

27 June 2006. Color-changing Snake discovered in Borneo
Researchers announce the discovery of the Kapuas Mud Snake, which can change its color from red-brown to white, from the wetlands of Kalimantan Borneo. This finding adds to the 361+ new species of animals and plants which have been recorded from Borneo in the past 10 years. Read the full article here.
15 June 2006. Recently Discovered Laotian Rock Rat
The first ever living photographs of the recently discovered Laotian Rock Rat, Laonastes aenigmamus, suggest that it is indeed a member of the Diatomyidae, a family of rodents thought to have been extinct for 11 million years. Read the full article.
21 Feb 2006. Giant Cockroach found in Borneo
A Nature Conservancy expedition to the remote limestone karst of the Sankulirang Peninsula in East Kalimantan (Borneo) has revealed a number of new species of cave organisms. Among them is a species of cockroach believed to be the world's largest. Read the full article.
